African Local Content Association (ALCA): Local Content Africa

2027 Local Content Global Networks™ | Regional Partner
Africa is entering one of the most important periods of industrial growth in its history. Across the energy, mining, manufacturing, infrastructure, transportation, and technology sectors, governments and private sector leaders are investing billions of dollars in projects designed to accelerate economic development. The African Local Content Association (ALCA) exists to ensure these investments create lasting value for African businesses, workers, and communities.

ALCA is a pan-African platform dedicated to advancing local content development by connecting governments, industry, suppliers, investors, and development partners. Its mission is to strengthen Africa's industrial base by promoting African participation in major projects, supporting enterprise development, and encouraging collaboration across national borders.
What Is the African Local Content Association?
The African Local Content Association (ALCA) is a continental organization that promotes policies, partnerships, and digital solutions that increase African participation throughout project value chains. Rather than viewing local content as simply a compliance requirement, ALCA positions it as a long-term strategy for industrial growth, job creation, technology transfer, supplier development, and sustainable economic competitiveness.
What Does ALCA Do?
ALCA advances local value creation through four strategic priorities:
- Policy Cooperation and Continental Alignment by encouraging knowledge sharing, harmonized strategies, and collaboration among African governments and institutions.
- Industry Strengthening and Capacity Development through training, technical assistance, and partnerships that improve the competitiveness of local businesses and national industry associations.
- Supplier Development and Business Linkages by connecting African companies with project owners, operators, EPC contractors, and investors across industries, including energy, mining, manufacturing, infrastructure, and professional services.
- Digital Integration through the ALCA Enterprise Hub, providing supplier visibility, collaboration opportunities, certification support, business intelligence, and access to training programs.
