Two trusted leaders in the New York energy industry – New York Power Authority (NYPA) and New York Transco – have collaborated to develop an innovative electric transmission solution for delivering clean energy, including offshore wind energy, into the statewide electric grid through system improvements on Long Island, in New York City and in Westchester County.
Building these clean energy pathways will:
- Create a more resilient and reliable transmission system for New York homes and businesses;
- Provide a cleaner, healthier New York by enabling greater transmission of renewable energy, including offshore wind energy, and by reducing greenhouse gas emissions;
- Support clean energy and construction jobs, advancing New York’s clean energy economy; and
- Help New York State achieve its nation-leading climate goals.
