What is the Local Content Compliance And Risk Score?

The Local Content (100 Point) Compliance and Risk Score is a structured system that evaluates how effectively an organization supports local suppliers, workers, and communities. Many contracts, grants, and permitting programs now require clear proof that a project creates meaningful local economic benefits. This score provides an organized way for organizations to document and demonstrate that impact.

The score is built around seven standards. Each standard examines a key area of local performance and compliance.

1. Supply Chain: Evaluates how well the organization includes local and domestic suppliers in purchasing, contracting, and vendor participation.

2. Workforce: Assesses hiring, training, and job creation efforts. Strong workforce investments expand skills and increase long term employment opportunities.

3. Community: Reviews contributions to education, health, housing, transportation, and essential local services. These activities help strengthen community outcomes.

4. Stakeholders: Measures how the organization engages with residents, local groups, and community partners. Meaningful engagement supports trust and reduces potential conflict.

5. Measurement: Examines whether the organization tracks and documents its commitments with reliable systems. Solid measurement practices support audits and compliance reviews.

6. Communications: Evaluates the clarity and consistency of public updates and outreach. Transparent communication helps maintain public confidence.

7. Risk: Assesses governance, documentation quality, and overall readiness for compliance evaluations. Strong systems reduce financial, operational, and regulatory risk.

After completing the assessment, organizations receive a score in one of three ranges.

  • Scores from 70 to 100 signal strong readiness.
  • Scores from 50 to 69 show developing capacity.
  • Scores below 50 indicate elevated risk and the need for improvement.

All scores remain private for internal use. Each organization receives a Platinum, Gold, Silver, or Bronze badge that is visible only to logged in users on the Local Content platform.

Why This Score Matters

  • Regulators use this score to verify that a project supports local economic and workforce goals.
  • Industry uses it to strengthen competitiveness, identify gaps, and meet funding requirements.
  • Stakeholders rely on it as evidence that an organization is acting responsibly and delivering real value to the community.
