Brooklyn, NYC | Athletes Make The Best™ today announced the launch of Summer of Sports + Infrastructure, a multi-city economic and workforce development series aligning the influence and reach of sports with trillions in active federal, state, and municipal commercial, industrial, and digital infrastructure investment reshaping the United States and The Caribbean.
Record public-private infrastructure investment is advancing energy and electric grid modernization, ports and maritime systems, AI and broadband expansion, advanced manufacturing, hospitality and tourism, and mixed-use commercial developments, including sports and entertainment districts. The defining challenge is no longer capital allocation. It is coordinated alignment across local suppliers, workforce participation, and community benefit initiatives.
Summer of Sports + Infrastructure is engineered to close that gap.

In 2025, sports accounted for approximately 96 percent of the top 100 most-watched television telecasts in the United States, reinforcing its unmatched ability to convene audiences at scale. More than 70 percent of youth and adults have participated in organized sports during their lifetime. By embedding infrastructure education, procurement visibility, and workforce alignment within high-visibility sports environments, the initiative converts cultural attention into structured economic access.
For many public-private infrastructure developments, developers, prime contractors, and suppliers must meet local and domestic content requirements to qualify for contracts, permits, licenses, and incentive programs. Limited awareness of procurement pathways and workforce programs can delay compliance and slow project timelines. The summer-long initiative transforms sports influence into measurable pathways for small business contracting, supplier ecosystem expansion, workforce recruitment, internship pipelines, and community benefit participation.

The platform is targeting 10 partner locations in 2026 and 20 partner locations in 2027, aligning activations with infrastructure investment corridors and major sports calendars. Initial 2026 markets include New York City/Long Island, NY; Newark, NJ; Philadelphia, PA; Las Vegas, NV; Miami, FL; Puerto Rico; and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Organizers are working with public and private partners to align 2027 and 2028 programming with multi-year infrastructure projects to ensure sustained and scalable impact.
In partnership with 501(c)(3) nonprofit The SPIN Foundation, the initiative will deploy business and community participation grants structured to support small business participation and paid internships through the Sports, Media and Infrastructure Summer Academy, along with professional development training tied directly to infrastructure opportunity zones.
