Soulful Synergy Is Bringing NYSERDA-Funded Offshore Wind and Green Careers Training to the Bronx for Free. You Get Certified, Connected to Employers, and Paid $1,500 to Complete It.

‍A 180-hour program backed by NYSERDA is turning motivated New Yorkers into certified infrastructure professionals. Spots are limited.

New York State is not waiting to build the workforce that will power its clean energy future. A new training program, funded through the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) and delivered by Soulful Synergy, is putting Bronx residents on a direct path to careers in one of the fastest-growing green sectors in the American economy.

The program is called Offshore Wind Construction Training, and it is free. Not reduced cost. Not income-based. Free, for any New York resident aged 18 or older who qualifies and commits.

In 180 hours of structured instruction running Monday through Friday from March 23 to May 8, 2026, participants complete a rigorous curriculum that most workforce programs charge thousands to access. The coursework includes a Green Professional GPRO certification in Fundamentals of Building, an OSHA 30-Hour Certification, 10 hours of Site Safety Training, 120 hours of Offshore Wind Fundamentals and Construction Skills, and 10 hours of Professional Development. Graduates leave with credentials, tools, and a $1,500 completion stipend in hand.

The training facility is located in the Bronx and is accessible via the 4 train and multiple bus lines, removing one of the most common barriers to participation for working New Yorkers.

What sets this program apart from standard training initiatives is the seriousness of its credentialing. OSHA 30 certification alone commands a meaningful wage premium across construction and energy sectors. Paired with offshore wind fundamentals and direct employer connections, graduates enter a green jobs market where demand is outpacing the available talent at every skill level.
