Local Content Power List 2026: Thomas Montalbine

Return to the Power List homepage

Thomas Montalbine has built a business legacy rooted in the belief that strong local economies depend on the interconnected success of workers, suppliers, and customers. Early in his career as a Peace Corps volunteer, Montalbine witnessed firsthand how small businesses serve as anchors for community stability and economic opportunity. That experience shaped his entrepreneurial philosophy and continues to inform his leadership today.

As Owner of Roman Stone, Montalbine prioritized long-term relationships with employees, suppliers, and clients, directly attributing the company’s sustained growth to those commitments. Recently stepping back from day-to-day operations, he intentionally transitioned leadership to a new team, confident that fresh perspectives would strengthen the company’s future. He remains actively engaged through weekly management meetings and continues to focus on offshore wind initiatives that support both New York State and small businesses.

Looking ahead, Montalbine is dedicating more time to community service, volunteering his business expertise to help organizations navigate an evolving economic landscape. His career reflects a consistent commitment to community-centered growth, responsible leadership, and the enduring value of locally rooted enterprise.
