Peter Walker is working to ensure that clean energy growth translates into tangible, lasting opportunity for the communities it is meant to serve. Early in his career, while helping design and implement the Massachusetts Climate Careers: Powering the Future curriculum and serving as Community Awareness Campaign Manager for the National Offshore Wind Institute and Bristol Community College, Walker saw firsthand how intentionally structured workforce pathways could connect local residents to emerging roles in clean energy. Over four years, that work engaged hundreds of students and thousands of residents, and revealed a critical truth: advancing clean energy is not just about building infrastructure, it is about building inclusive systems that allow people and communities to thrive alongside industry growth.

As a Cross-Sector Consultant with MANSA Consultants, Walker draws on experience across workforce systems, education, employer engagement, and community partnerships to break down silos that often limit impact. His work focuses on aligning industry demand with workforce readiness, strengthening supplier inclusion strategies, and helping organizations design data-informed, equity-driven pathways. He partners with workforce boards, utilities, developers, schools, and community-based organizations to ensure that clean energy investments are supported by coordinated ecosystem strategies rather than isolated programs. His Offshore Wind Professional Graduate Certificate from UMass Amherst, funded and powered by the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center, deepens the technical and industry fluency he brings to this work.
Looking ahead, Walker sees the greatest opportunity at the intersection of large-scale clean energy investment and regional ecosystem readiness. With billions flowing into electrification, offshore wind, grid modernization, and advanced manufacturing, he believes success will depend on whether regions can convert capital into durable workforce pipelines, strong local supplier participation, and measurable community outcomes. Through systems thinking and cross-sector alignment, his leadership is helping shape a more inclusive, resilient, and future-ready clean energy economy.
