Register Today!

AMITYVILLE, N.Y. — The Institute for Workforce Advancement (IWA) will bring its IWA FutureReady™ workforce training program to the Amityville area September 14–18, providing Long Island and New York City residents with hands on training for careers in advanced manufacturing and other high demand industries.

Open to individuals ages 17 and older, the five day program is designed to prepare participants for today's rapidly evolving workforce through technical instruction, career readiness, and industry exposure. Participants will receive hands on training in composites and advanced manufacturing, while exploring career opportunities in renewable energy, drone aviation, and 3D printing. Individuals who successfully complete the program will also receive a $400 stipend.

The inaugural cohort is expected to serve up to 200 residents from across Long Island and New York City. In addition to technical skills, participants will receive professional development, workforce readiness training, and connections to internships, apprenticeships, and employment opportunities with industry partners.

The official training location and registration details will be announced this August, with enrollment opening shortly thereafter. Space will be limited, and early registration is encouraged once applications become available.

IWA FutureReady™ is delivered through a partnership between the Institute for Workforce Advancement, FutureReady, The SPIN Foundation, Sports Power Infrastructure, and LocalContent.com. Supported by the New York Power Authority, the initiative reflects a shared commitment to building New York's future workforce by connecting residents with industry aligned training, in demand skills, and pathways to meaningful careers in advanced manufacturing and the innovation economy.
